Cohen & Chisholm – a keyboard duo

Wednesday 16th – Friday 18th August 2017

with Jonathan Cohen and Alastair Chisholm

Join us in an exploration of the emergence of music for 4 hands, using the wide range of instruments in the Cathedral from a Morley virginal to a Bösendorfer concert grand piano.

The music will range from domestic pieces from the time of Jane Austen to pieces for 2 grands written by Percy Grainger.

There will be 3 illustrated lectures and an evening concert over 2 days. Resident participants will receive full board in the College’s elegant surroundings.

Course cost: £160

Jonathan Cohen is a British musician, composer and broadcaster. he is well known for his work with BBC Television and Radio and his annual Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

Alastair Chisholm is Director of Music at the Cathedral of The Isles and was recently awarded the BEM for his service to music and culture.
